"Photography helps people to see." Berenice Abbott

Collections

Presented here is a series of "collections," photographs acquired and curated into themes, like threaded beads on a necklace, each telling a different story, within a greater narrative. We hope you enjoy them and they inspire you.

Nature

Nature photography has always been a shared passion in the Lunn family. Since working with Ansel Adams in the early 1970s.

Portraits

Through the lens, we seek to portray the intricate beauty and unique stories of individuals, blending the artistry of portraiture with the reverence for nature that has defined our family's photographic legacy.

Shadow Memories

"We find beauty not in the thing itself but in patterns of shadows, the light and the darkness, that one thing against another creates. Like a phosphorescent stone, which, when in darkness, shines, but when exposed to the light, loses its fascination as a precious stone, beauty loses its existence if one removes the effects of the shadows."

Leon Levinstein (1913-1988)

"In my photographs, I want to look at life -- at the commonplace things as if I just turned a corner and ran into them for the first time."

Leon Levinstein (Photography Annual 1955 (New York: Ziff-Davis Publishing Company, 1954), p. 248

"A good photograph will prove to the viewer how little our eyes permit us to see. Most people, really, don't see --  see only what they have always seen and what they expect to see -- where a photographer, if he's good, will see everything. And better if he sees things he doesn't expect to see." (1988 - Interview with Adam and Jem Cohen)
